Answer
Is pCloud Good for Delivering Photos to Clients?
For a colleague, yes. A pCloud link opens as a browser preview, takes a password on Premium and reports who viewed and downloaded. For a paying client, the pCloud help pages describe no studio-branded page and no way to send picks back.
Updated 24 September 2026
pCloud is cloud storage with sharing built in. If your backups already live there, the question comes up naturally: why not send clients a pCloud link too?
The honest answer has two halves. pCloud's shared links do more than hand over a file list. They also stop short of what a paying client expects from a delivery.
Every pCloud figure below comes from pCloud's own pricing page and help centre, fetched on 24 September 2026 and listed under Sources. pCloud prices are in US dollars, as the pricing page shows them. Only lifetime prices rendered that day, so this page gives no monthly or annual pCloud price.
The short answer
Use pCloud to hand files to a retoucher, a second shooter or a client's agency. pCloud states that recipients get an instant preview in their browser, even without a pCloud account. On Premium, you can add a password. pCloud also offers link statistics to track who is viewing and downloading.
Use a gallery for a paying client. The client wants a page that looks like your studio, a way to mark favourites, and one button that downloads the set. A storage link is built around files, and that is what the client meets.
What a pCloud shared link actually gives you
| Feature | What pCloud publishes |
|---|---|
| Recipient account | Not needed. Recipients get an instant browser preview without a pCloud account. |
| Password on the link | A Premium feature. |
| View and download reporting | Link statistics track who is viewing and downloading your shared content. |
| Public Folder | Included in all Premium and Business plans. It creates direct links to files and folders, hosts static HTML websites and embeds images. |
| Free storage | The Basic plan offers up to 10 GB. |
| Branding of the link page | No branding option was found on the shared-links help page. |
The reporting row deserves credit. A photographer who sends a pCloud link is not flying blind about whether the client looked. That is a real advantage over sending a bare file attachment.
The traffic allowance is the number to check
pCloud publishes a monthly allowance for shared-link traffic on each plan. For photo delivery, this matters more than storage. A family may download a large set more than once, and each download moves data through your link.
| Plan | Storage | Shared-link traffic per month | Lifetime price listed 24 Sept 2026 (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic (free) | Up to 10 GB | 50 GB | Free |
| Premium | 500 GB | 1,000 GB | $219, listed down from $279 |
| Premium Plus | 2 TB | 4 TB | $499, listed down from $709 |
| Ultra | 10 TB | 20 TB | $1,499, listed down from $2,799 |
The lifetime prices were shown as discounts off a higher list price. This page does not know when that offer ends, so treat the figures as a snapshot from the fetch date. pCloud also states that its Family plan is sold as lifetime only.
Compare the allowance with your own volume. A month of deliveries that adds up to more than 50 GB of downloads is past the free plan's figure.
Where a storage link falls short for a paying client
None of this makes pCloud bad. It makes it storage. A client delivery asks for four things storage was not designed around.
A page that is yours. The delivery is the last thing a client sees, and often the thing they show friends. The pCloud shared-links help page describes no way to put your logo, colours or domain on it.
A way to say which frames they want. Proofing is a conversation. The client needs to mark favourites and send the list back. The pCloud help pages fetched for this answer describe no way to do that, so the list arrives by message and you retype it.
One download for the whole set. Clients expect a single button. The pCloud help pages fetched for this answer do not describe a one-click download of a whole shared folder. Open your own link in a private window, as a stranger would, before you rely on it.
A link that still means something next year. Clients lose links, and come back for them. A shared link points into your own storage, so the client's delivery depends on you never moving or tidying those files.
For a colleague, none of the four matter. For a wedding couple or a family, all four do.
What a gallery does instead
On clientgallery.io, each gallery is a page on your studio's own subdomain, with no platform branding on it. Each gallery can have its own password.
The client likes and loves frames, then sends the selection. The two-way Lightroom Classic plugin pulls those picks back into your catalog. The client can download the whole gallery in one click or any single image.
On reporting, be precise. Analytics are account-wide: visits, unique visitors, photo views, favourites, picks sent, ZIP downloads, time spent and a device split. The only per-gallery signal is an opened indicator on each gallery tile, with filters for galleries seen by the client and galleries not opened yet. pCloud describes its link statistics as tracking who is viewing and downloading your shared content, so on that one point pCloud is not behind.
Uploads are browser-compressed proof JPEGs of about 0.6 MB each, and hosted galleries do not expire while the account exists. Full-resolution delivery is a paid feature: one ZIP per gallery, live for 3 days per handoff, re-uploadable any time, with 100 GB of standing ZIPs per account. Fair-use ceilings are 1,000 photos per gallery and 250 GB of proofs per paid account.
The plan is $10 a month or $100 a year, and the first gallery is free.
Keep pCloud, and add a gallery on top
This is not a switch. The gallery hosts JPEGs and does not warehouse RAW files, so your masters need a home, and pCloud may well be it.
A sensible split looks like this. Masters and working files stay in pCloud. Transfers to colleagues go through pCloud links. The client gets a gallery, and the full-resolution ZIP when the edit is done.
If you are still deciding whether a gallery is worth it at all, the do I need a client gallery platform answer puts a threshold on it. The same argument made against another storage product is on the Dropbox alternative page. The full picture of delivery options is in the complete photo delivery guide.

Frequently asked
Is pCloud good for delivering photos to clients?
It works well for handing files to a colleague. pCloud states recipients get a browser preview without an account, passwords are a Premium feature, and link statistics track viewing and downloading. For a paying client, the pCloud help pages describe no studio-branded page and no way to send picks back, which is what a gallery adds.
Can I password protect a pCloud shared link?
Yes, on Premium. pCloud lists password protection for shared links as a Premium feature.
Can I see whether my client opened a pCloud link?
pCloud states that its link statistics track who is viewing and downloading your shared content. So yes, pCloud offers reporting on shared links.
Does my client need a pCloud account to see the photos?
No. pCloud states that recipients get an instant preview from their browser, even if they do not have a pCloud account.
How much traffic do pCloud shared links allow?
pCloud lists shared-link traffic per month by plan: 50 GB on the free Basic plan, 1,000 GB on Premium 500 GB, 4 TB on Premium Plus 2 TB and 20 TB on Ultra 10 TB.
Should I cancel pCloud if I use a client gallery?
No. A gallery hosts proof JPEGs for the client and a full-resolution ZIP for the handoff. It does not warehouse RAW files or masters. Keep your masters in storage, pCloud included, and use the gallery for the client-facing step.
Your client galleries, under your name
Branded galleries, client selections and a Lightroom Classic workflow. Start with your first gallery, then compare the current plan. Full-resolution delivery is a separate handoff with its own limits and conditions.
