Comparison
CloudSpot vs clientgallery.io, Side by Side
CloudSpot is cheaper to start and meters galleries and gigabytes by tier. clientgallery.io is one flat plan. The table below shows which volume of work favours which.
Updated 17 September 2026
This page answers one question: CloudSpot or clientgallery.io.
It is a two-column comparison, one row per decision, built only on what CloudSpot publishes on its own pricing page and help centre.
Every CloudSpot figure was read on 17 September 2026 and is listed under Sources at the end.
The short version is not one-sided. CloudSpot costs less at the bottom of its ladder, and it sells prints through the gallery, which clientgallery.io does not do at all. clientgallery.io costs less once your gallery count or your library grows past CloudSpot's cheaper tiers.
If you only want to know what CloudSpot's free tier allows, read CloudSpot free plan limits.
The head-to-head table
Prices are shown as CloudSpot publishes them, with a bare dollar sign and no currency named.
CloudSpot's pricing page and its plans article describe the billing term of the headline prices differently, so this page says "listed at" and does not label them as billed monthly.
| Question | CloudSpot | clientgallery.io |
|---|---|---|
| Plans | Five: Free, Entry, Lite, Pro, Unlimited | One paid plan, plus a free account |
| Price | Free 0 $. Listed at 7 $, 17 $, 34 $ and 50 $ a month for Entry, Lite, Pro and Unlimited | 10 $ a month, or 100 $ a year (8.33 $ a month) |
| Yearly totals published | Entry 72 $ a year, Lite 144 $ a year. None published for Pro or Unlimited | 100 $ a year |
| Free tier | 3 active galleries, 5 GB | 1 gallery, 5 GB |
| Gallery count on paid plans | Up to 15 at a time on Entry. Unlimited from Lite up | Unlimited under fair use, with a ceiling of 1,000 photos per gallery |
| Storage | 5 GB, 15 GB, 100 GB, 500 GB, and listed as unlimited on the Unlimited plan | No storage tiers. Proofs of about 0.6 MB each, with a fair-use ceiling of 250 GB of proofs per paid account |
| File types | JPEG only on Free and Entry. JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, PSD and PDF from Lite up | Hosts JPEG proofs. The web uploader takes JPG and PNG. No RAW or master video |
| What the client downloads | Free: 2048px on the long edge, and direct download links expire after 7 days. Entry and up: high-resolution downloads | Whole gallery in one click, or any single photo, on every account. Paid: a full-resolution ZIP per gallery, live 3 days per handoff, re-uploadable, 100 GB of standing ZIPs per account |
| Store and commission | Store included. 15% commission on Free and Entry. Commission-free from Lite up | No store, so no commission |

| Your own logo | Upload your own logo on Lite, Pro and Unlimited | Your logo, two brand colours and two fonts, set once in Settings |
| Removing the platform's own mark | Not stated here. CloudSpot's pricing page and help centre describe it differently | No platform branding on client-facing pages, on any account |
| Gallery expiry | Optional. An expired gallery stays on the account but the client loses access. Dates can be changed or removed | Hosted galleries never expire. Only the full-resolution ZIP runs on a 3-day clock |
| Lightroom | Plugin described by CloudSpot as a one-way sync, publishing from Lightroom to CloudSpot | Lightroom Classic plugin that publishes proofs and pulls client picks back into the catalog |
| Leaving or downgrading | If over 5 GB when the account moves to Free, all data is removed. No refunds for unused time | Galleries stay up while the account exists, unless you revoke or delete them |
Pricing a season of galleries on both
The two platforms meter different things, so the cheaper one depends on your volume.
CloudSpot meters two things: how many galleries are active at a time, and how many gigabytes of your own files are stored.
clientgallery.io meters neither in normal use. It charges one price and publishes its fair-use ceilings as abuse tripwires.
To place yourself, count the galleries you keep live at once and add up the size of the files you deliver through CloudSpot.
| Your season | Cheapest CloudSpot plan that fits | clientgallery.io | Which costs less |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 3 active galleries, under 5 GB, no need for high-resolution downloads | Free, 0 $ | Free covers 1 gallery. Past that, 100 $ a year | CloudSpot |
| Up to 15 active galleries, under 15 GB, JPEG only | Entry, 72 $ a year | 100 $ a year | CloudSpot, by 28 $ a year |
| More than 15 active galleries, or more than 15 GB, up to 100 GB | Lite, 144 $ a year | 100 $ a year | clientgallery.io, by 44 $ a year |
| More than 100 GB, up to 500 GB | Pro, listed at 34 $ a month, no yearly total published | 100 $ a year, or 10 $ a month | clientgallery.io, on the listed monthly figures |
| More than 500 GB | Unlimited, listed at 50 $ a month, no yearly total published | 100 $ a year, or 10 $ a month | clientgallery.io, on the listed monthly figures |
The differences in the last column are arithmetic on the published yearly totals, 100 $ against 72 $ and 144 $.
The gigabyte rows are not like for like. CloudSpot stores the files you upload. clientgallery.io hosts browser-compressed proofs of about 0.6 MB each, and full-resolution files travel as a separate ZIP that stays live for 3 days per handoff.
So a studio that needs its gallery host to keep the original files online indefinitely is not buying the same thing on both sides.
CloudSpot also runs promotions. On 17 September 2026 its pricing page showed 3 $ a month for the first 3 months, 6 months free with an annual plan, and a "Save 50% or MORE" banner. This page prices the regular figures, because those are what you pay after the promotion ends.
Where the cheap end of CloudSpot bites
The Free and Entry plans are cheap, and each has a limit worth knowing before a client meets it.
- Download size on Free. CloudSpot's free-plan article states that downloads are "limited to 2048px (social media size)" on the longest edge.
- Download links on Free. The same article states that all direct download links expire after 7 days.
- Gallery count on Entry. CloudSpot's plans article says Entry supports up to 15 galleries at a time. Your sixteenth live job needs Lite.
- Commission on Entry. Entry still takes 15% of store sales. Commission-free selling starts at Lite.
- No studio tools on Entry. CloudSpot states that Studio Manager is not included on Entry.
None of these are hidden. They are simply the reason Entry is priced where it is.
Where clientgallery.io is narrower
The flat price comes from building less, and the gaps are real.
- No print store, no product sales and no studio management suite.
- No RAW files, no master video, and no TIFF, PSD or PDF hosting.
- No seats or team logins. A two-person studio shares one account.
- The free account holds one gallery, against CloudSpot's three.
- The hosted photos are sized for fast viewing on screens. Print files go in the full-resolution ZIP, which is a paid feature.
- Galleries do not expire on a date. If timed expiry is part of how you sell, that is a missing tool.
What the flat plan does include: unlimited galleries, photos and clients under fair use, your own studio subdomain, Face Search switched on per gallery, sections inside a gallery, and the two-way Lightroom Classic plugin.
On the plugin, the difference is direction. CloudSpot describes its plugin as a one-way sync from Lightroom to CloudSpot. The clientgallery.io plugin publishes proofs and then brings the client's picks back as star ratings, a Pick flag, colour labels and a collection, as described in the guide to getting client picks back into Lightroom.
Who should stay on CloudSpot
A studio that sells through its galleries should stay on CloudSpot.
From Lite up, CloudSpot pairs a commission-free store with what it calls a full suite of features, and its pricing page lists a 2-day bank deposit timeframe on paid plans. clientgallery.io has no store and no studio management suite, so moving would mean giving up revenue tooling, not just changing hosts.
Stay on CloudSpot as well if any of these is true.
- You keep 15 or fewer galleries live and your files fit in 15 GB. Entry at 72 $ a year is cheaper than our 100 $.
- You deliver TIFF, PSD or PDF files through the gallery.
- You want your gallery host to keep your delivered files at their uploaded size, with room up to an unlimited tier.
- You use gallery expiry dates to prompt clients to act.
Who should pick clientgallery.io
A studio that delivers finished JPEGs and collects picks, and does not sell through the gallery, is the fit.
- You keep more than 15 galleries live, and the Lite plan's 144 $ a year is the price you would otherwise pay.
- Your library is heading past 100 GB and you do not want the bill to follow it.
- You cull and edit in Lightroom Classic and want client picks written back into the catalog.
- You want delivered galleries to stay online with no date to manage.
Moving from CloudSpot
There is no CloudSpot importer. The only importer clientgallery.io has reads Pixieset.
Moving from CloudSpot means downloading your galleries from CloudSpot and uploading them, through the web uploader or by publishing again from Lightroom Classic with the plugin.
Order matters. CloudSpot's cancellation article says that if an account holds more than 5 GB when it moves to Free, all data is removed. So download everything you want to keep before you downgrade or cancel, not after.
Keep the CloudSpot galleries live until each client has the new link.

Frequently asked
Is CloudSpot cheaper than clientgallery.io?
At the low end, yes. CloudSpot Free costs nothing for 3 active galleries and 5 GB, and Entry is 72 $ a year for up to 15 galleries at a time and 15 GB, against 100 $ a year for clientgallery.io. Once you need Lite, at 144 $ a year, clientgallery.io costs 44 $ a year less.
How many galleries can I have on each?
CloudSpot allows 3 active galleries on Free, up to 15 at a time on Entry, and unlimited from Lite up. clientgallery.io allows one gallery on a free account and unlimited galleries on the paid plan under fair use, with a ceiling of 1,000 photos per gallery.
Can clients download high-resolution photos on CloudSpot's free plan?
No. CloudSpot's free-plan article says downloads are limited to 2048px on the longest edge and that direct download links expire after 7 days. CloudSpot's pricing page shows high-resolution downloads from Entry up.
Does either platform take a commission?
CloudSpot takes 15% of store sales on Free and Entry and is commission-free from Lite up, with a 2.5% processing fee on Lite, Pro and Unlimited. clientgallery.io has no store and takes no commission. A studio can paste its own payment link into a gallery.
Can I import my CloudSpot galleries into clientgallery.io?
No. The only importer reads Pixieset. You download your galleries from CloudSpot and upload them, through the web uploader or the Lightroom Classic plugin. Download before you downgrade, because CloudSpot says an account over 5 GB loses all its data when it moves to Free.
Who should stay on CloudSpot?
A studio that sells prints or products through its galleries, runs its studio management in the same platform, delivers TIFF, PSD or PDF files, or keeps 15 or fewer galleries live within 15 GB. clientgallery.io has no store, no studio management suite and hosts JPEG proofs only.
