VSCO Galleries vs clientgallery.io: An Honest Comparison
VSCO Pro costs less than our yearly plan and stores video. That is the first fact on this page. What differs after that is the job each product is built for: VSCO is a creative membership with galleries inside it, clientgallery.io is a delivery and proofing tool with a two-way Lightroom Classic plugin.

VSCO is best known for its photo editing app.
It now also sells client galleries, called VSCO Galleries, as part of its paid memberships.
If you are comparing it with clientgallery.io, start with price, because VSCO wins on one of the two billing terms.
VSCO Pro is published at $59.99 billed annually.
clientgallery.io is $100 a year.
VSCO Pro also includes unlimited photo storage and 65 GB of video storage, and clientgallery.io does not host video at all.
So the question is not which one is cheaper on a yearly plan. It is which one does the work you actually need done after a shoot.
The short answer
Choose VSCO if you want one membership for editing, a portfolio site, client galleries and a chance at leads from VSCO Hub.
Choose VSCO if you deliver video alongside photos.
Choose clientgallery.io if you edit in Lightroom Classic and want client picks to land back in the catalog without retyping filenames.
Choose clientgallery.io if your clients need two levels of picks, or if your event guests need to find their own faces in a large gallery.
Neither product sells prints through the gallery. A studio that earns its margin on print and album orders should look at a platform with a store built in, such as Pixieset or Pic-Time.

On yearly billing, VSCO Pro is about $40 a year cheaper than clientgallery.io.
On monthly billing, clientgallery.io is about $36 a year cheaper than VSCO Pro.
VSCO lists a free 7-day trial on Plus and Pro, and a 30-day risk-free period on VSCO One.
VSCO One is priced for a different buyer: it adds VSCO Workspace for running the business and an education library.

What VSCO does that clientgallery.io does not
- Editing. The Plus plan advertises 200+ presets, and Pro advertises unlimited AI Lab. clientgallery.io has no editor.
- A portfolio site. Pro includes a portfolio site with custom domain support. clientgallery.io gives each studio its own subdomain for galleries, not a portfolio builder.
- Video. Pro and VSCO One include 65 GB of video storage. clientgallery.io hosts JPEGs and does not store master video.
- Guest uploads. Wedding guests, second shooters and crew can add photos through a QR code.
- Leads. VSCO Hub is a marketplace where businesses and creators look for photographers to hire. The Hub page, written for people who hire, advertises a premium service at $19.99 a month. It does not say what, if anything, a listed photographer pays.

If most of those matter to you, VSCO is the better fit, and this page will not pretend otherwise.
What clientgallery.io does that the cited VSCO pages do not describe
A two-way Lightroom Classic plugin. You enter the studio key once, name the gallery and press Export or Publish. It works as a publish service, so a re-edited photo replaces itself on the next Publish and the link does not change. When the client has chosen, one command pulls the picks back: a star becomes 3 stars, a love becomes 5 stars and a Pick flag, and colour labels become Lightroom labels. Picks are matched by filename. Two pick levels. One tap stars a photo and a double tap loves it, so a client can mark a long list and a short list in one pass. Pressing Send my picks asks for a name and email and locks the selection; the studio can reopen it. Everyone with the link shares one set of picks. More in the star and love pick levels guide.
Face Search. It is off by default and switched on per gallery. A guest takes a selfie, matching runs entirely in the guest’s browser, and the selfie is never uploaded.
A full-resolution handoff. Hosted photos are proof JPEGs sized for fast viewing. On the paid plan, the studio uploads a full-resolution ZIP per gallery. It stays live for 3 days per handoff, can be uploaded again at any time, and an account can hold 100 GB of standing ZIPs.
No platform branding. Client pages carry no clientgallery.io branding, on the one plan, under the studio’s own subdomain.
Galleries that do not expire. A hosted gallery stays up for as long as the account exists, unless the studio revokes or deletes it.
None of this means VSCO lacks a given feature. It means the VSCO pages cited below do not describe it, and this page does not fill the gap with guesses.
Storage: unlimited against fair use
VSCO Pro lists unlimited photo storage.
clientgallery.io does not use the word unlimited for storage.
It states its ceilings instead: 1,000 photos per gallery and 250 GB of proofs per paid account.
Uploaded photos are compressed in the browser into proof JPEGs of about 0.6 MB each, so 250 GB is hundreds of thousands of photos.
The ceilings exist to stop abuse, not to sell a higher tier; there is no higher tier.
The trade-off is that clientgallery.io is not a place to keep originals. Keep RAW files and masters on your own drives.
Moving from VSCO Galleries
There is no importer for VSCO.
The only importer clientgallery.io has reads Pixieset.
Moving from VSCO means uploading your finished photos again, either in the web uploader or by publishing from your Lightroom Classic catalog with the plugin.
If your edits already live in a Lightroom Classic catalog, publishing from there is usually the shorter path, because the picks will later come back to the same catalog.
Keep your VSCO galleries live until clients have the new links.
You can start with the free account, which holds one gallery, and test a real delivery before paying.
Who should stay with VSCO
- A photographer who edits in VSCO and wants presets, AI Lab and galleries on one bill.
- A photographer who wants a portfolio site on a custom domain from the same membership.
- A photographer who hopes to be hired through VSCO Hub.
- Anyone delivering video with the photos.
- A wedding or event photographer who wants guests to upload their own photos by QR code.
- Anyone on a yearly budget for whom $59.99 against $100 decides it.
