PASS Gallery Alternative: One Flat Plan, No Commission

PASS sells five subscription tiers with storage caps on the lower ones and a commission line on two. clientgallery.io is delivery and proofing at one flat price. Here is who should switch, who should stay, and what a move actually takes.

Updated September 2026

PASS sells five subscription tiers on its official pricing page. The cheapest is Starter at 1 $/month billed annually, with 10 GB and a 15% commission on sales. The most expensive is Platinum at 125 $/month. Its official pricing page lists no per-gallery price. What PASS sells is a subscription ladder: storage caps on the lower tiers, and a commission on two of them.

clientgallery.io is a different shape of product. One flat plan, 10 $/month or 100 $/year, with unlimited galleries, photos and clients under fair use. There is no store, so there is no commission. There is no platform branding on any client-facing page, and galleries live on the studio's own subdomain. Face Search and a two-way Lightroom Classic plugin are included.

This page lays PASS's ladder against the flat plan with yearly totals, says plainly who should stay on PASS, and explains what a move involves. One point up front, because it matters: there is no PASS importer here. A move is a re-upload or a Lightroom re-publish.

What PASS's pricing page sells now

Fetched on 2 September 2026, PASS's official pricing page lists these tiers:

  • Starter: 1 $/month billed annually, 10 GB, 15% commission fees.
  • Basic: 1 $ for the first month, then 72 $ billed annually, or 8 $ billed monthly, 20 GB.
  • Standard: 240 $ a year or 24 $ a month, 100 GB, 3% commission fees.
  • Unlimited: 456 $ a year or 44 $ a month.
  • Platinum: 125 $ a month.

Two things stand out. The ladder is built around selling: two tiers print a commission on sales, 15% on Starter and 3% on Standard, and the drop between them is the reason to climb. Storage is the other lever: 10 GB, 20 GB and 100 GB are the caps printed on the three lowest tiers, and a studio that delivers full-resolution JPEG galleries will feel them.

No per-gallery price appears on the official pricing page.

PASS's five tiers against one flat plan

Prices are as printed on each pricing page on 2 September 2026, before tax. Yearly totals are the printed price multiplied out. "Not listed" means the pricing page, as fetched that day, printed no figure for that cell. Do not read it as zero, and do not read it as unlimited.

Read the commission column twice. On clientgallery.io it is not a low number; it is absent, because there is no store for a commission to apply to. On PASS it is a share of what your clients spend through the platform.

Reading the table with your own volume

PASS Starter is 12 $ a year. For a photographer with a handful of small galleries and no sales, that is hard to beat on price alone, as long as 10 GB holds the work. The comparison changes the moment galleries outgrow the cap, or the 15% commission starts applying to sales.

PASS Standard is the first tier with three-digit storage: 100 GB for 240 $ a year, with 3% commission. clientgallery.io is 100 $ a year with no cap on the number of galleries or photos under fair use, and no commission. A studio that fills 100 GB in a season is not choosing between two similar plans. It is choosing between climbing a ladder and not having one.

Who should stay on PASS

Stay if you sell through PASS. If your clients buy prints or products through PASS and that revenue matters to your studio, the commission is the cost of a store you use. clientgallery.io has no store to replace it with: no lab, no cart, no product catalogue. A studio that has built its client sales around PASS should keep PASS, and this page will not argue otherwise.

Stay if the client-facing side of PASS is the reason you chose it and your clients are happy with it. Switching has a cost in re-uploading galleries and re-sending links. Do it when the numbers or the workflow justify it, not because a comparison page exists.

Who should move

Move if you deliver and proof, and you do not sell through the store. Then the commission line is irrelevant to you and the storage caps are your entire bill. Unlimited galleries under fair use at 10 $/month means a busy season does not push you up a tier.

Move if you want the gallery to be yours. Every client-facing page on clientgallery.io is free of platform branding, and galleries live on your own subdomain. The client sees your studio's name, not a platform's.

Move if you edit in Lightroom Classic. The two-way plugin publishes proofs straight from the catalog and pulls client picks back into it, so selection happens where you already work. Face Search is included, which matters on galleries with many guests. Sub-galleries, folders inside a gallery, keep a wedding or a multi-day event in one link. The Lightroom page covers the plugin in detail.

What the flat plan includes, and what it leaves out

Included:

  • One plan at 10 $/month or 100 $/year, which works out to 8.33 $ a month.
  • Unlimited galleries, photos and clients under fair use.
  • No platform branding anywhere on client-facing pages, and your own subdomain.
  • Face Search.
  • A two-way Lightroom Classic plugin: publish proofs from the catalog, pull client picks back in.
  • Sub-galleries, meaning folders inside a gallery.
  • Clients download the whole gallery in one click or any single image, and hosted galleries never expire.
  • Full-resolution delivery, per gallery. Uploaded photos are browser-compressed proof JPEGs, hosted for as long as the account exists. Full-resolution delivery is a paid feature: you upload a full-resolution ZIP per gallery, it stays live for 3 days per handoff and can be re-uploaded any time, with 100 GB of standing ZIPs per account.

Left out on purpose:

  • No print store, no commissions, no per-gallery fees, no storage tiers.
  • JPEG hosting only. RAW files and master video are not warehoused here. That is what keeps the price flat, and it is the honest limit to weigh before you move.

How a move works: there is no PASS importer

clientgallery.io has no importer for PASS. The one-click, whole-account importer here reads Pixieset accounts only; the Pixieset alternative page covers that flow. A move from PASS is a re-upload.

There are two ways to do it.

  1. Re-upload from your archive. Your delivered JPEGs are on your own drives. Create the gallery, upload the files, set a password if you use one, and send the new link.
  2. Re-publish from Lightroom Classic through the plugin. If the delivered galleries are still in your catalog, publish them from there. The plugin sends the files up, and on proofing galleries it brings the client's picks back down.

Stage it so nobody notices. Start all new work on the flat plan. Move the galleries clients still open. Leave finished galleries on PASS until its term ends, then let it lapse. Do not cancel PASS before the last active client has the new link. The photo delivery guide covers the sending side.

Where PASS sits next to Pixieset and Pic-Time

For context, two other platforms on the same shelf, fetched the same day. Pixieset: Free at 3 GB with a 15% commission fee on store sales; Basic at 8 $/month billed annually or 10 $ monthly for 10 GB; Ultimate at 40 $ or 50 $ a month, unlimited. Pixieset prices are in US dollars, and its page shows local currency to Canadian visitors. Pic-Time: Advanced at 42 $/month billed annually or 50 $/month billed monthly, in US dollars, unlimited, with terms applying.

PASS Starter at 12 $ a year sits far below both entry tiers, with the same 10 GB cap as Pixieset Basic and the same 15% commission as Pixieset Free. At the top, PASS Unlimited at 456 $ a year is just under Pixieset Ultimate at the 40 $ rate (480 $ a year) and Pic-Time Advanced billed annually (504 $ a year). At that end, all three sit in the same price band, and all three sell through the gallery. clientgallery.io at 100 $ a year is delivery and proofing without the store, which is why the full comparison tells storefront studios to stay where they are.

Frequently asked

Does PASS charge per gallery?

Its official pricing page lists no per-gallery price as of 2 September 2026. It lists five subscriptions: Starter at 1 $/month billed annually, Basic at 72 $ a year or 8 $ a month, Standard at 240 $ a year or 24 $ a month, Unlimited at 456 $ a year or 44 $ a month, and Platinum at 125 $ a month. No per-gallery price appears.

Can I import my PASS galleries into clientgallery.io?

No. There is no PASS importer. A move is a re-upload of your delivered JPEGs, or a re-publish from Lightroom Classic through the two-way plugin. The only one-click account importer here reads Pixieset.

What does PASS's commission mean if I do not sell?

Nothing, until you sell. The 15% on Starter and the 3% on Standard apply to sales made through PASS. If you only deliver files, the storage cap is the part of the tier you are paying for. clientgallery.io has no store, so there is no commission, and no cap on the number of galleries under fair use.

Is clientgallery.io cheaper than PASS?

It depends on the tier. PASS Starter is 12 $ a year with 10 GB and a 15% commission. clientgallery.io is 100 $ a year, or 10 $/month, with unlimited galleries under fair use and no commission. Against Standard at 240 $ a year, Unlimited at 456 $ or Platinum at 1,500 $ on monthly billing, the flat plan costs less; against Starter it costs more and gives far more room.

Should I stay on PASS?

Yes, if you sell prints or products through PASS and that revenue matters to your studio. clientgallery.io has no store. Moving would trade a sales channel for a cheaper subscription, which is the wrong trade for a studio that sells.

Does clientgallery.io host RAW files or video?

No. It hosts JPEGs, which is what keeps the price at a flat 10 $/month. RAW files and master video stay on your own drives or archive.

Will my clients see any clientgallery.io branding?

No. Client-facing pages carry no platform branding, and galleries live on your own subdomain. Clients see your studio's name and nothing else.
