Pic-Time Gallery Migration Service: What It Moves, Costs and Leaves Behind

Pic-Time sells a paid service that moves Pixieset galleries into Pic-Time. It takes no other platform, needs a paid plan and at least 20 galleries, and takes around 10 weeks. Here are its terms, and the self-run import that reads the same Pixieset account.

Updated 17 September 2026

Yes, Pic-Time runs a gallery migration service. It is a paid service, and Pic-Time's own team does the work. It has one source: Pixieset. Pic-Time's help centre states that the paid migration service is only available for Pixieset galleries.

So this page answers two questions. The first is what Pic-Time's service actually costs and carries, taken from its own FAQ. The second is for the Pixieset studio that is weighing that service against other ways out. clientgallery.io has a whole-account Pixieset import that you run yourself. It has no Pic-Time importer, and this page says so plainly further down.

If you are already on Pic-Time and want to leave, this is the wrong page. Pic-Time's service only moves galleries in. The guide to switching from Pic-Time covers the manual route out.

The service at a glance

These are the terms as Pic-Time's help centre states them.

The 10 weeks is Pic-Time's own figure. It is a queue that someone else works through. Plan to keep your Pixieset account live while you wait.

What it costs

The fee is charged per gallery. The rate depends on how you pay for your Pic-Time plan.

Pic-Time billing termPer gallery20 galleries100 galleries300 galleries

One year of the yearly planUS$1US$20US$100US$300
Monthly planUS$2US$40US$200US$600

The three right-hand columns are our multiplication of Pic-Time's per-gallery rates. They are the migration fee only. The plan comes on top.

The cheapest paid plan on Pic-Time's pricing page is Beginner. It costs US$7 a month billed annually, or US$8 billed monthly, with 20 GB of photo storage. A large Pixieset archive will not fit in 20 GB. Pic-Time's pricing page lists 100 GB on Professional, at US$21 a month billed annually or US$25 monthly. Advanced, at US$42 or US$50, is listed as unlimited, subject to Pic-Time's terms. Pick the plan by the size of what you are moving, because the FAQ requires enough storage first.

What moves and what stays behind

Pic-Time's FAQ is specific about both lists.

Client emailsMoved, as "Photographer Invited" users
Cover imagesMoved, but Pic-Time says Pixieset only offers them in low resolution, so you may need to re-upload or pick a new cover

Favourites listsNot moved
VideoNot moved. Pic-Time says video migration is not supported at this time.
Access codes and passwordsNot carried. In most cases clients are asked to create a new password the first time they open the gallery on Pic-Time.

Two rows matter most for a studio in the middle of a job. A client who is still choosing loses their favourites list. A client with a protected gallery meets a new-password prompt. Finish open selection rounds on Pixieset before you queue those galleries.

It only runs one way

Pic-Time's FAQ and its transfer article both describe galleries coming in, from Pixieset. We found no Pic-Time page that describes a service to move galleries out of Pic-Time, or an account-wide export. That is what we found, not a statement from Pic-Time.

The way out on record is a download, gallery by gallery. Pic-Time's download article for Pic-Time 2.0 states that photographer downloads are not available on Free plans. So a studio that later leaves has to download while it is still paying. The guide to downloading your galleries before leaving Pic-Time sets out that order step by step, and the Pic-Time free plan answer covers what Free keeps and removes.

The self-run option: a whole-account Pixieset import

If you are on Pixieset, a paid service is not the only way to move. clientgallery.io reads a Pixieset account directly, and you run it yourself.

  1. Sign in to your Pixieset dashboard at galleries.pixieset.com.
  2. Click the import bookmark once. It reads the whole account.
  3. Leave it running. There is no queue to join.

It reads the account through the dashboard API that Pixieset's own web app already uses. Every call to Pixieset is a read, so nothing on Pixieset changes. No Pixieset password reaches clientgallery.io. Re-running the import skips what is already there, so you can move a season now and the archive later without duplicates. A single-gallery bookmark exists too, if you want to try one first.

Read the photo-size row twice. The import brings Pixieset's largest web size. It does not bring your originals. That is the right source for proofing and everyday delivery, but the import is not a backup. Keep your masters on your own drives. When a client needs full-resolution files, a paid account uploads a full-resolution ZIP per gallery, live for 3 days per handoff and re-uploadable any time.

Fair use applies too. A gallery holds up to 1,000 photos, and a paid account holds 250 GB of proofs. Proofs are about 0.6 MB each, so that is hundreds of thousands of photos. For the time side of a move, see how long a gallery migration takes. For a staged move, see migrating Pixieset galleries in batches.

There is no Pic-Time importer

clientgallery.io imports from Pixieset and nothing else. There is no importer for Pic-Time. If your galleries are on Pic-Time today, you download them from Pic-Time and upload them again, through the web uploader or the Lightroom Classic plugin. If the job is still in your Lightroom Classic catalog, publishing it again from the plugin skips the download entirely.

Which one fits your studio

Choose Pic-Time's service if you want Pic-Time. Pic-Time's pricing page lists more than 30 global labs, online payments, automatic fulfilment and an album builder. If print and album sales are a real revenue line, clientgallery.io has no store to replace them. Paying 50 cents to US$2 a gallery for someone else to do the move is a fair trade for that studio. Pic-Time's service also carries client emails, which our import does not.

Stay on a platform that stores masters if you need that. clientgallery.io hosts JPEGs. It does not warehouse RAW files or master video.

Choose the self-run import if you mainly deliver and proof. It has no gallery minimum and no per-gallery fee, it starts when you click, and passwords come across. The plan is $10 a month or $100 a year, with unlimited galleries under fair use and no platform branding on client pages. There are no seats: a two-person studio shares one account.

Either way, old Pixieset links keep pointing at Pixieset. The answer on broken links covers how to swap them. The Pixieset switching guide walks through the whole move.

Pic-Time's FAQ gives 50 cents per gallery with two years of the yearly plan, US$1 per gallery with one year of the yearly plan, and US$2 per gallery on a monthly plan. Pic-Time requires a minimum of 20 galleries, and the plan itself is paid separately.

How long does Pic-Time's migration take?

Does the clientgallery.io Pixieset import bring my original files?

No. It brings Pixieset's largest web size, not the originals, so it is not a backup. Keep your masters on your own drives. A paid account can hand clients a full-resolution ZIP per gallery that stays live for 3 days per handoff.
