Comparison
Pic-Time vs clientgallery.io: Side by Side
Pic-Time is a gallery with a store and a four-step storage ladder. clientgallery.io is one flat plan for delivery and proofing with no store. Here are both, row by row, and who belongs on which.
Updated 17 September 2026
People who search for Pic-Time and clientgallery.io together usually have one question. Is the store worth what it costs to carry?
This page answers it with a two-column table. Every Pic-Time figure comes from Pic-Time's own pricing pages or help centre, fetched on 17 September 2026 and listed under Sources. Every clientgallery.io line describes the product as it ships today.
The short version: if prints, albums and products sell through your galleries, stay on Pic-Time. If your galleries exist to hand over files and collect picks, read on.
Head-to-head table
Pic-Time prints its prices in US dollars. The two monthly figures are the rate billed annually and the rate billed monthly.
| Criterion | Pic-Time | clientgallery.io |
|---|---|---|
| Plans | Four: Free, Beginner, Professional, Advanced. | One paid plan, plus a free account. |
| Price per month | Free US$0. Beginner US$7 billed annually or US$8 billed monthly. Professional US$21 or US$25. Advanced US$42 or US$50. | 10 $ a month, or 100 $ a year (8.33 $ a month). |
| Photo storage | Free 10 GB, reduced to 3 GB. Beginner 20 GB. Professional 100 GB. Advanced unlimited, with terms that apply. | No storage tiers. Unlimited galleries, photos and clients under fair use: 1,000 photos per gallery and 250 GB of proofs per paid account. Free accounts hold one gallery and 5 GB. |
| Fair-use line on the top plan | Unlimited accounts may face additional fees above 20 GB per gallery or 100 GB of bandwidth per month. | The two ceilings above are abuse tripwires. Proofs are about 0.6 MB each, so 250 GB is hundreds of thousands of photos. |
| Video storage | Free 1 GB. Beginner 5 GB. Professional 30 GB. Advanced 60 GB. | None. It hosts JPEG proofs and does not store RAW files or master video. |
| Print store and labs | Yes. The pricing page lists 30+ global labs, online payments, automatic fulfilment and an album builder. | No store and no lab. The studio can paste its own payment link into a gallery. |
| Commission | When Pic-Time collects payment: 15% on Free and Beginner, 8% on Professional, 6% on Advanced, taken on the order profit only. Commission-free when the photographer collects, on paid plans other than Beginner. | None. There is no store to take a cut of. |
| Platform branding | Removable on Professional and Advanced. Shown on Free and Beginner. | None on any client-facing page. |
| Gallery address | Custom domain on Professional and Advanced. | The studio's own subdomain on clientgallery.io. No custom domain. |
| Logo and watermark | Your logo and watermark from Beginner up. | Studio logo on every gallery. No watermark is applied by the product; Lightroom Classic's own export watermark can be used before publishing. |
| Face search | Face Recognition and Selfie Search on Advanced only. | Face Search included. Off by default, switched on per gallery, matching runs in the guest's browser and the selfie is never uploaded. |
| Lightroom | A sync brings client selections into Lightroom under Selections. Automatic favourites sync is unavailable in Pic-Time 2.0 galleries. Plan availability is described differently on the pricing page and the help centre. | Two-way Lightroom Classic plugin: publish proofs from the catalog, then pull picks back as 3 stars for a like, 5 stars and a Pick flag for a love, plus colour labels. |
| Gallery expiry | Optional per gallery. An expired gallery still counts toward account storage. | Hosted galleries never expire. Only the full-resolution ZIP is timed: live 3 days per handoff, re-uploadable any time. |
| Moving in | Paid migration service for Pixieset galleries only, on paid plans: 50 cents, US$1 or US$2 per gallery by billing term, around 10 weeks. Favourite lists, video and client access codes do not carry over. | Whole-account Pixieset import you run yourself with one bookmark. It brings titles, passwords, photo order and sets, at Pixieset's largest web size, not the originals. No importer for Pic-Time. |
What a year costs on each
Yearly totals are the monthly figure multiplied by 12. Pic-Time Free is left out because it costs nothing; its limits are covered further down.
| Plan | Per month, billed annually | Per month, billed monthly | Year, annual billing | Year, monthly billing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pic-Time Beginner (20 GB) | US$7 | US$8 | US$84 | US$96 |
| Pic-Time Professional (100 GB) | US$21 | US$25 | US$252 | US$300 |
| Pic-Time Advanced (unlimited, terms apply) | US$42 | US$50 | US$504 | US$600 |
| clientgallery.io (one plan) | 8.33 $ | 10 $ | 100 $ | 120 $ |
Pic-Time Beginner is cheaper than the flat plan. It also stops at 20 GB, keeps Pic-Time branding on the gallery, and carries a 15% commission on store orders.
Professional is the first Pic-Time plan that removes the branding. A year there costs about two and a half times the flat plan.
Advanced is the only Pic-Time plan without a photo storage ceiling. It is also the only one with face recognition. A year there costs about five times the flat plan.
Where Pic-Time is stronger
Pic-Time does several things clientgallery.io does not do at all.
- A store. Its pricing page lists 30+ global labs, online payments, automatic fulfilment and an album builder. There is nothing equivalent here.
- Video. Every Pic-Time plan includes video storage, from 1 GB on Free to 60 GB on Advanced. clientgallery.io does not store master video.
- A custom domain. Pic-Time offers one from Professional up. clientgallery.io gives each studio its own subdomain on clientgallery.io, which is not the same thing.
- Watermarking in the platform. Pic-Time lists your logo and watermark from Beginner up. clientgallery.io applies no watermark itself.
- A free plan with more than one gallery. Pic-Time Free lists unlimited galleries inside its storage. A free clientgallery.io account holds one gallery.
- Multiple brands. Pic-Time's pricing page offers extra brands on Advanced at US$6 a month each.
Where clientgallery.io is stronger
- One number. 10 $ a month or 100 $ a year, with no storage tier to grow into and no upgrade when a busy season lands.
- No platform branding on the only plan. Clients see the studio's name and logo, never ours. The white-label guide covers what that looks like.
- Face Search without a top tier. It is part of the plan, switched on per gallery. The selfie never leaves the guest's browser.
- Picks that land in the catalog. The Lightroom Classic plugin turns a like into 3 stars and a love into 5 stars with a Pick flag, and carries colour labels. Picks are matched by filename. The picks guide walks through it.
- No commission, ever. There is no store, so there is no cut. Payment happens through a link the studio pastes in. Unlocking downloads after payment is a switch the studio flips itself.
- Galleries that do not expire. A hosted gallery stays up for as long as the account exists, unless the studio revokes or deletes it.
The free plans are built for different things
Pic-Time Free starts at 10 GB of photo storage and drops to 3 GB. Pic-Time's own pages state the timing of that drop in conflicting ways, so this page gives no timing. Confirm it with Pic-Time before relying on the free plan. The Pic-Time free plan answer covers its limits in full.
Pic-Time also says free accounts are marked for deletion after 60 days of inactivity, followed by a 7-day countdown. Logging in resets the clock.
Two more points from Pic-Time's own pages. Store orders on Free carry a 15% commission. And the photographer download of gallery media is, in its words, not available on Free plans.
A free clientgallery.io account holds one gallery and 5 GB of proofs. It is a real gallery for one client, not a place to park an archive. The full-resolution ZIP handoff is a paid feature.
Moving between them
There is no Pic-Time importer here. Leaving Pic-Time means downloading your galleries from Pic-Time, then uploading the JPEGs or re-publishing them from Lightroom Classic. Do it while your Pic-Time plan is still paid, since downloads are not available on Free. The guide to downloading your galleries before leaving Pic-Time sets out the order of operations, and the Pic-Time switching guide covers the rest of the move.
Going the other way, Pic-Time runs a paid migration service. Its FAQ says it only takes Pixieset galleries and takes around 10 weeks. Favourite lists and video are not moved, and clients need new access codes. The migration service answer has its full terms.
clientgallery.io's own importer also only reads Pixieset. The studio clicks one bookmark on the Pixieset dashboard and the whole account comes across, with titles, passwords, photo order and sets. It brings Pixieset's largest web size, not the originals, so it is not a backup. Masters stay on your own drives.
Verdict: who should pick which
Stay on Pic-Time if
- Prints, albums or wall art sell through your galleries and the revenue is real.
- You want Pic-Time to take lab orders and fulfil them for you.
- You deliver video inside the gallery.
- You need galleries on your own custom domain, or several brands under one account.
- You want the platform to watermark your proofs.
Pick clientgallery.io if
- Your galleries hand over finished JPEGs and collect picks, and nothing is sold there.
- You want one flat price with no storage ladder and no commission.
- You want face search and no platform branding without paying for a top tier.
- You proof from Lightroom Classic and want picks back as stars, flags and labels.
- You are fine with one shared account, since there are no team seats or roles.

Frequently asked
Is clientgallery.io cheaper than Pic-Time?
Not at every rung. Pic-Time Beginner is US$7 a month billed annually or US$8 billed monthly, below the flat 10 $ a month or 100 $ a year. Beginner stops at 20 GB and keeps Pic-Time branding. Against Professional (US$21 or US$25) and Advanced (US$42 or US$50), the flat plan costs less.
Does clientgallery.io have a print store like Pic-Time?
No. There is no store, no lab and no commission. If prints or albums sell through your galleries, stay on Pic-Time. Its pricing page lists 30+ global labs, online payments and automatic fulfilment.
What commission does Pic-Time take?
Pic-Time's help centre, updated 25 April 2025, lists 15% on Free and Beginner, 8% on Professional and 6% on Advanced when Pic-Time collects payment, taken on the order profit only. It says sales are commission-free when the photographer collects payment, on paid plans other than Beginner.
Which Pic-Time plan includes face recognition?
Pic-Time's Client Delivery Suite pricing page ticks Face Recognition and Selfie Search on Advanced only. On clientgallery.io, Face Search is part of the one plan and is switched on per gallery.
Can I import my Pic-Time galleries into clientgallery.io?
No. The only importer reads Pixieset. Moving from Pic-Time means downloading your galleries there while your plan is paid, then uploading the JPEGs or re-publishing them from Lightroom Classic.
Is Pic-Time's Advanced storage really unlimited?
Pic-Time calls it unlimited, with terms. Its help article on unlimited accounts, updated 20 August 2025, says additional fees may apply above 20 GB per gallery or 100 GB of bandwidth a month. clientgallery.io publishes its own ceilings: 1,000 photos per gallery and 250 GB of proofs per paid account.
Can a two-person studio share clientgallery.io?
Only by sharing one account. There are no seats, roles or separate logins.
