Dance Recital Photo Gallery for Parents: Every Class in Running Order

On clientgallery.io, sections are a studio-side organising tool inside one gallery.

Parents do not move between separate pages.

They open one scrolling page, and a jump-to bar at the top lists every section by name with its photo count.

A tap on a class name scrolls straight to that class.

For a recital, name each section after the routine and arrange the sections in the order of the programme.

Parents already know the running order from the printed programme, so the gallery reads like the show did.

Photos you leave outside every section appear first, and the jump-to bar lists them as Highlights. That is a good place for a few whole-cast and finale frames.

Numbering the section names keeps the running order obvious in the studio list as well as on the page.

Every section also has its own share link.

That link opens a page with only that section’s photos.

It is view-only.

• No Download all photos button and no per-photo download.
• No full-resolution ZIP.
• No picks.
• No link back to the full recital gallery.

The gallery’s password still applies. Someone who opens a section link is asked for the same password as the full gallery.

That makes the section link a good fit for a teacher who wants to show a class its photos, or for the school’s own review of one routine.

It is not a way to give one class’s families a private gallery. The password that opens the section also opens the full gallery.

The layout above assumes the school is happy for every recital family to see the whole show.

That is often true for stage photos, because the audience saw the whole show anyway.

If the school wants each class seen only by its own families, use separate galleries instead of sections.

A large recital with two shows can pass 1,000 frames. In that case split by show, for example matinee and evening, before you split by class.

A recital gallery is not a private session gallery, and a few settings change because of that.

Switch picks off. Picks on a gallery are one shared set for everyone who holds the link, and the first person to press Send my picks locks picking for the whole gallery. With forty families on one page, that is not a useful tool. With picks off, the page simply tells visitors their photos are ready.

Decide on downloads with the school. Downloads are their own switch. With downloads on, parents get a Download all photos button and a download button on each photo. With downloads off, the gallery is for viewing only.

Set a password. One password per gallery covers every section and every section link.

Consider hiding the share button. The gallery page has a Share this gallery button, and it can be switched off. Hiding it removes the invitation to pass the link on, though it cannot stop anyone copying the address.

Keep the slideshow. A full-screen slideshow that advances on its own is built into the page, and a parent can play the whole recital on a television or tablet. It can be switched off if the school prefers.

Write a welcome note. It appears under the gallery title. Use it for the school’s sharing rule, for example: please do not post photos that show other children.

Recital galleries hold photos of children, so keep identifying details off the page.

• Name sections by class and routine, never by child.
• Check your export filenames. A downloaded photo saves under its filename, so a name typed into a filename travels with the file.
• Give the gallery a title the school recognises, such as the recital name and year.

A password stops strangers and search engines.

It does not stop a parent from forwarding the link and the password to a grandparent, or to anyone else.

Consent for photographing and sharing images of children is the school’s process. A gallery setting does not replace it.

If a link reaches someone it should not, you can revoke the gallery and the link stops working. Deleting is permanent, so revoke first.

Each gallery tile in the studio carries an opened indicator, and the gallery list can be filtered to All, Seen by client, or Not opened yet.

That tells you whether a gallery has been opened at all.

It does not tell you which family opened it. There are no per-viewer logins.

The analytics dashboard counts visits, unique visitors, photo views and ZIP downloads across your whole account, not per gallery, and visitors are counted anonymously.

For a recital, the practical reading is simple: if the gallery still shows as not opened a few days after the school sent the link, the email probably never reached the families.
