ShootProof Alternative: One Flat Plan Instead of Photo Tiers and Archive Fees

Two meters run at once on ShootProof: the number of photos in the account and the storage they use. The tiers bundle them together: 1,500 photos with 75 GB, 5,000 photos with 250 GB, 25,000 photos with 1,250 GB. Whichever limit you reach first is the one that moves you up a tier.

The third charge is archiving. ShootProof's help center states that archiving costs a minimum of 2.99 $ a month for up to 25 GB, then 0.05 $ for each additional GB. The pricing page lists archiving as included on the Unlimited plan only; on the other plans it is priced separately, and the charge grows with the gigabytes archived.

None of this makes ShootProof a bad product. It makes it a metered one. The question is whether the meter fits how you deliver, and what the alternative gives up to remove it.

The figures below come from ShootProof's pricing page and its help center, both fetched on 2 September 2026, and from the clientgallery.io pricing section. Yearly totals are the monthly rate on annual billing multiplied by twelve. clientgallery.io is one plan, shown on the last line.

Two things stand out. Only the Unlimited plan, 600 $ a year on annual billing, lists archiving as included. At the help center's rate the archive charge starts at 35.88 $ a year for the first 25 GB and grows per gigabyte after that, on top of the subscription.

A delivery platform earns its keep long after the delivery. Clients lose files, come back for a print, or ask for the link again before an anniversary. On ShootProof, archiving is priced as its own line below Unlimited: a floor of 2.99 $ a month for up to 25 GB, then 0.05 $ per GB above it. That is a small line in any single month and a permanent one across a career, because an archive only ever grows.

At clientgallery.io there is no archived state to pay for. A gallery delivered in your first month is the same gallery years later, still reachable, with the same one-click download for the client of the whole gallery or any single image. Hosted galleries never expire. What is hosted is the proof JPEGs, browser-compressed on upload and kept for as long as the account exists. Full-resolution delivery is a paid feature: you upload a full-resolution ZIP per gallery, it stays live for 3 days per handoff and can be re-uploaded any time, with 100 GB of standing ZIPs per account. The flat plan is priced on the assumption that studios keep their work online, and it holds because the service hosts JPEGs and does not warehouse RAW files or master video.

clientgallery.io is one plan: 10 $/month, or 100 $/year, which works out to 8.33 $ a month. Everything is in it:

• Unlimited galleries, photos and clients, under fair use: 1,000 photos per gallery and 250 GB of proofs per paid account, which is hundreds of thousands of photos; free accounts hold 5 GB. There is no tier to move up to.
• No platform branding on any page a client sees, and galleries on your own subdomain.
• Face Search, so a guest at a large event finds their own photos.
• Sub-galleries: folders inside a gallery, so a wedding can be split into ceremony, portraits and reception under one link.
• A two-way Lightroom Classic plugin: publish proofs from the catalog, then pull the client's picks back in.
• Delivery that stays put. Clients download the whole gallery in one click, or any single image, and hosted galleries never expire.

What it leaves out is just as deliberate. There is no print store and no commission. There are no per-gallery fees and no storage tiers. It hosts JPEGs: no RAW warehousing, no master video. That narrowness is what keeps the price flat. If you need any of the things it leaves out, the next section is written for you.

Stay if any of these is true for your studio:

• You sell prints or products through your galleries. ShootProof has a storefront. clientgallery.io does not, and will not pretend a flat price replaces a revenue line.
• You want RAW files or video stored beside the JPEGs. This service hosts JPEGs only.

None of those are edge cases. A studio whose ShootProof subscription pays for itself through the storefront should keep the storefront, and the platform comparison says the same about Pixieset and Pic-Time. The flat plan is for photographers who deliver files and proof selections under their own brand, and get paid for the work elsewhere.

Be clear about this before you cancel anything. clientgallery.io has a whole-account import for Pixieset. It has nothing equivalent for ShootProof. A move from ShootProof is a rebuild, done one of two ways.

First path: re-publish from Lightroom Classic. If your finished work lives in a Lightroom catalog, the plugin does the rebuilding. Select a shoot and export it; clientgallery.io appears in the Export dialog like any other destination, and the gallery is built, named and password-set by the time the render finishes. Export the same shoot again later and the same gallery updates, with no new link and no duplicate. When the client has chosen, one more command flags the loved photos in your catalog and gathers every pick into a collection, matched by filename. Second path: re-upload the JPEGs. If your finals exist as exported JPEGs on a drive, create the gallery, upload the files, add sub-galleries where the shoot needs them, and send the link. There is nothing more clever than that.

A sensible order: move the galleries clients still open, then the recent ones, then the archive, and run both services side by side until the last active client has the new link. Before you close the old account, make sure you hold every finished JPEG yourself, on disk or in a catalog you can re-render. This page makes no claim about how ShootProof exports your galleries; confirm that on your own account before you cancel.

For context, the two platforms most often weighed against ShootProof also price growth, from their own pricing pages fetched on 2 September 2026. Pixieset runs from Basic at 8 $/month billed annually or 10 $ monthly for 10 GB, through Plus at 16 $ or 20 $ for 100 GB and Pro at 24 $ or 30 $ for 1 TB, to Ultimate at 40 $ or 50 $ for unlimited photo storage, in USD, shown in local currency to Canadian visitors. Pic-Time's Advanced plan is 42 $ a month billed annually or 50 $ monthly in US dollars, unlimited with terms applying. ShootProof's Unlimited, at 50 $/month billed annually, sits above both.
